You're cordially invited to the The Red Pump Project's 2nd annual fashion show:
Rock the RED: Bold. Fashion. Awareness.
The show will be held on March 24, 2011, in commemoration of annual National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day.
Rock the RED will also be a celebration of the 2nd anniversary of The Red Pump Project, which was founded in March 2009 to raise awareness about the impact of HIV/AIDS on women and girls.
The event will begin with a "Happy Hour" at 6:00pm, and Rock the Red beginning promptly at 7:00pm. It will showcase the newest fashions by upcoming designers and boutiques from around the city.
We will present Keyana Ray with this year’s Ultimate Red Pump Rocker award. In 2006, Keyana wrote “Reflections,” a movie about how three African-American girls handle the threat of HIV/AIDS. The film was produced by Gina Price-Blythewood (Love & Basketball), and has been screened across the country. Keyana is currently a film/video student at Columbia College Chicago and continues to shed light on the impact of HIV/AIDS on women and families.
So join us for a fantastic evening where we bring together social justice and fashion to Rock the RED BOLDLY, FASHIONABLY while being AWARE of the impact of HIV/AIDS on our community.
VIPs will be guaranteed seating at the show, hors d'oeuvres complimentary of Flavor 180, free drinks for an hour, and a gift bag of goodies! Cash bar available.
Ladies, ROCK YOUR RED PUMPS! Gentlemen, ROCK YOUR RED TIES!

About The Red Pump Project
The Red Pump Project™ raises awareness about the impact of HIV/AIDS on women and girls. Our mission is to promote HIV prevention through education, and open dialogue about the issues that surround sexual and reproductive health.
Founded in March 2009 by Luvvie Ajayi and Karyn Watkins, Red Pump believes that if HIV affects one, it affects us all. We use the red shoe as a symbol of empowerment to represent the strength and courage of women infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. The incorporation of fashion into the message of HIV prevention is our contribution as we hope to show that Awareness is Always in Style!™
Red Pump along with The Red Tie Project™ (which focuses on men), embody The Red Project Collective™, a nonprofit organization that raises awareness about the impact of HIV/AIDS on minority communities (women, people of color, LGBT). The Collective is doing work online and on the ground to motivate action and encourage dialogue about the effects of the disease.
